An amateur who cannot sing even the 7 major notes, can become the most popular!

Any voiceless person, can record his own album and feature in newspapers!

Any sponsor-greedy TV channel can start Not-So-Realistic Reality Show and proudly select Super Stars that last no more than 6 months!

Any incompetent person, declaring to have “Visharad” or “Nipun”, can judge so called Music Reality Shows!

මේ අමුතු රටේ..

කිසිම අප්‍රසන්න චිත්‍රයක් ජාතික සම්මාන දිනන්නේ නැත!

කිසිම අවලක්ශන නැටුමක් ජනතාව පිනවන්නේ නැත!

කිසිම අමන චිත්‍රපටයක් වාර්තා තබන්නේ නැත!

නමුත්,

ඕනෑම අමිහිරි ගීතයක්,
රූපවාහිනිය / ගුවන්විදුලිය සොලවන්නත සමත්ය!

ස්වර සප්තකයවත් ගායනාකිරීමට බැරි ඕනැම අදක්ශයෙක්ට,
ජනප්‍රියම ගායකයා විය හැක!

ඕනෑම ගොලුවෙකුට,
තමන්ගේම ගීත එකතුවක් එලිදක්වා පත්‍ර වල මුල් පිටු සැරසීමට පිලිවන!

ඕනෑම කෑදර රූපවාහිනී ආයතනයට,
කියන-තරම්-ඇත්තක්-නැති නමුත් නමට Reality Show පවත්වා
“මාස හයේ සුපිරි තරු”, සාඩම්බරයෙන් දැයට දායාද කල හැක!

මා මේ දිනවල නව ගීයක් සෑදීමට මියුරු ගී පද කිහිපයක් එකතු කරමින් සිටිමි. බොහෝ විට (වඩාත් ප්රිය කරන මාතෘකාවක් වන) “ආදරය” තේමාව ලෙස ගැනීමට ඉඩ ඇති මුත්, ගීත රචකයාට එය බාරදීම හොඳයි කියා සිතමි. විරහ ගීත නම් එතරම් ප්රිය නැත.

මෙලෙස එවූ ගීතයක් මා තොරා ගතහොත් එම ගීත රචකයාට එය දනුම් දීමෙන් පසුව, ඔහුට හෝ ඇයට (දැනට ක්ෂේත්රයේ පිලිගත්) සාධාරන ගෙවීමක් කිරීමට බලාපොරුත්තු වෙමි.

මෙම ගීතයේ සියලුම හිමිකම් ලංකාවේ පවතින නීති රෙගුලාසි අනුව තීරණය කරනු ලබයි. ඒ අනුව ගීත නිරමාණකරුට සහ ගීත රචකයාට එම අයිතිය සතුයි.

ගීතයේ රසය, නිර්මාණය, සංගීත සංයෝජනය, ගායනය, පටිගත කිරිම සහ ප්රචාරය උපරිම තත්වයන් රැක ගනිමින් කරනු ලැබේ.

අවස්තාවක් බලාපොරුත්තුවෙන් සිටි දක්ෂ, හැකියාව ඇති තරුණ ගීත රචකයින්ට මෙය අනඟි අවස්තාවක් වෙයි කියා මා බලපොරොත්තු වෙමි.

කියන්නා කෙසේ කීවත්

සිංහල භාෂාව මෘදුකාංගගත හෝ ඉන්ටර්නෙට්ගත කිරීමට ඒ ගැන දන්නා උදවිය කලක පටන් උත්සාහ කෙරූහ. එහි ප්‍රතිපලයක් වශයෙන් සිංහල මෘදුකාංගගත කිරීමට වෙර දැරූ මෘදුකාංග ඉන්ජිනේරුවන් දන්නා වැඩ සියල්ල දමමින් විවිධ ක්‍රමවේදයන් හරහා එය කිරීමට සමත් වුහ.

ආරම්භයේදී සිංහල අකුරු රටා හන්දුන්වාදුන් ඔව්හු පසුව උසස් සහ සංකීර්නණ ක්‍රමවේද හන්දුන්වා දුන්හ. නිදසුනක් ලෙස කැන්ඩි (Kandy) අකුරු රටාව (Fonts) මට මතක මුල්ම අකුරු රටා වලින් එකකි. අනෙකුත් ක්‍රමවේද අතුරින් සිංහල අකුරු රටා නොමැතිව ඊමේල් යැවීමේ ක්‍රමයක් හන්දුන්වාදීම උදාහරනයක් ලෙස ගත හැක. මේ ක්‍රමයෙන් අප ලියන සිංහල අකුරු ඉතා කුඩා පින්තූර වශයෙන් අලලා එය ඊමේල් කිරීම මගින් සිංහල අකුරු රටා නොමති අයෙකුට වුවද ඉතා පහසුවෙන් සිංහල ඊමේල් කියවීමට හැකි විය.

ක්‍රමයෙන් සිංහල අකුරු රටා වැඩි වීම සහ ජාතික හෝ ජාත්‍යන්තර තත්වයේ අකුරු රටා නොමැති වීම මෙවැනි දුශ්කර සංකීර්ණ මෘදුකාංග සංවර්ධනයන්ට පාර කීවේය. මෙවැනි පසුබිමක් තුල සිංහල යුනිකේත (Unicode) අකුරු නිර්මානය කිරීම සහ ඊටත් වඩා එය ජාත්‍යන්තර තත්වයන් යටතට ගෙන එන උත්සාහය ඉතා ප්‍රශන්සනීය කරුනකි. සිංහලෙන් බ්ලොග් මැරතන් දිවීම එහි නවතම පියවරයි.

වර්තමානය ගැන කතා කරනවිට සිතා ගනීමට පවා නොහැකි වේගයෙන් සිංහල බ්ලොග් කරුවන් තම ලිපි උන්මාදයෙන් මෙන් අන්තර්ජාලගත කරති. මෙය සෑම දිනකම වැඩිවෙනවා වෙනුවට දෙගුන වීමක් දක්නට ලැබේ. එය හරියට පේ‍රාසෙසර් වල වේගය වැඩි වීම කියූ මුවර්ගේ නියමය වාගේය.

ඉදින් අද පටන් මමත් සිංහල වංශ කථාවේ සාඩම්බර බ්ලොග් කරුවෙකි.අනෙක් රටවල් ලෝකලෛසේශන් (localization) හෙවත් මව් භාෂාවට පරිවර්ථනය කිරීම අපට ප්‍රථමයෙන් කෙරුවත්, දැන්වත් එය අපට හැකිවීම කෙරෙහි මම සතුටු වෙමි.

රටකට අවශ්‍ය ගෝලීයකරනය (globalization) පාලනයකොට ලෝකලෛසේශන් වැඩි කිරීමය. ගෝලියකරනය නැති කිරීමට බැරි දෙයකි. නමුදු එය පාලනය කිරීම සහ එය අපේ වාසියට හරවා ගනීම කළ හැකි දෙයකි.

අප රටේ තොරතුරු සන්නිවේදන/පරිඝනක මාද්‍යට ඇතුල් වීමත ඇති ප්‍රධානම බාධකය නම් ඉංග්‍රීසි භාෂාවය. මෙය මගහරවා ගැනීනට ක්‍රම කිහිපයකි.

- පලමුව ඉතා හොඳ ඉංග්‍රීසි සහ පරිඝනක දැනුමක් ළමා කල සිටම පාසැලෙන් ලබාදිය යුතුය.
- දෙවැනුව දැනට තිබෙන ඉංග්‍රීසි ලිපි, මෘදුකාංග සහ අනෙකුත් මෙකී නොකී සෑම දේම සිංහලට පරිවර්ථනය කළ යුතුය.

මේ දෙකම හරියට පිලිපැදීමෙන් පමනක් අපට තවත් දියුනු වීමට හැකි වේවි.

ඉදින් මාගේ ප්‍රථම සිංහල බ්ලොග් ලිපිය ඕනෑවට වඩා දිගුකොට ඔබට දෙවැන්න කියවීම එපා කරවීම හොඳ කාරනාවක් නොවන නිසාවෙන් නවතිමි. කෙසේ වෙතත් දිගු කලක් සිට ලිපියකට කරුනු එක් කිරීමට නොහැකිව සිටි මට, බ්ලොග් නැමැති කාන්තාරයේ සිංහල නැමැති ක්ෂේම භූමියක් හමුවු සේක!

Despite the fact that I’m dying to write a new post, I thought of putting up something similar to what Photojournalists does.
Inspired by Shehan’s post Odds and Ends, I had a look at my Flickr page and randomly selected some good ones, recalled the story behind each and put up a post with some spices.
So here it starts…

Spidy

Nowadays, even a poor spider can’t live without being exposed by paparazzi. These cameras and paparazzi are everywhere!

The photo was taken in an entrance to a restaurant of which I can’t remember the name on our way back home from a friend’s wedding.
The Spidy’s web was on an (hanging) ornament which I luckily observed in the dark night.

Bond of Love

“Love is a serious mental disease” - Plato. Truely it’s a deciece that everybody loves. It does wonderful things to your life. Don’t you think so?
This was in the Convocation of IDM (Mar ‘0 It’s me and My girlfriend. It was taken by my best friend Ranuka; many thanks for him too.

Blinding while strips; Sharp and razor straight.
Photoshop effect? nah! It’s natural; Straight from camera! Increase the Shutter Speed and this is what you get (Shutter Priority Mode). By the way, did you guess why white strips? It’s a Bus that passed us at a considerable speed.

This was taken inside Bentota Beach Hotel. I wish I had a SLR Cam with a wide angle lens, but still I love my camera and this shot anyway.

From Worlds End - Horton Plains

Once upon a time, 3 Friends went on a trip to Horton Plains, a paradise located in Sri Lanka. They had a great time and brought home some charming memories. This picture is one of them.
The 3 friends are Shehan, Ranuka and I.

I’m in the process of collecting a good set of new song lyrics, from which one will be chosen for a debut song (single).

The language for the moment is Sinhala. English and Tamil lyrics are also welcome, but they will be taken into consideration later.

The lyricist is free to select the theme of the song, although Romance would be the ideal theme.

The Lyricists will be informed if his/her lyrics have been selected for the song and also a considerable amount (according to prevailing industry standards) will be paid.

The copyrights of the song will be maintained according to Sri Lanka copyright laws. The Music composer and Lyricist hold copyrights of a song.

I can guarantee that the composition, recording, performance and publicity of the song will be kept at highest possible standards.

This is a great opportunity for people who has true abilities and skills to write song lyrics but who are waiting for the right opportunity.
